Marx is the small town on Wolga. I think, that the most high building in it is the catholic church.

And near the church there is a monastery of Congregatio Sororum Ancillarum Jesu in Eucharistia, where I spent my summer Urlaub (see you, I'll use German words, too)

My Marxstadt trip have begun with litte schock. I had to go by train from sity to Saratov (near 35 hours, he-he), sisters had promised to meet me in Saratov (from S. to M.- one hour by car).

And there was a nice scene. Saratov, 00.01, my train comes. I get out and see a nun. I go to her, say greeting: "Slava Iisusu Christu"! (Laudetur Iesus Christus - In saecula saeculorum. Amen - most widespread among Russian catholics, in Russian, of course). All is good.

Suddenly appeares a man and take my suitcase. FRATRES ET SORORES, YOU HAD TO NOTIFY ME!!!
It's not habitual for me. In the platform was the bishop of Saratov diocese, who bring me by his VW to the "sister part of Saratov curia". Next day I was brought to Marx (After Mass in Saratov cathedral, dinner with bishop, Mass in the village Stepnoje), where I have been in vocation retreat.

Morals: potential SJE sister is pretiose person in st. Clemens diocese, expectially for bishop Clemens Pickel.

I did't post for a long time. Maybe, some evil potatoes carryed me far-far away ;)

I'm stil working in my pipe-trade-company, crisis is awful. We'll work 3 days in a week and get proportional salary. Advent is time for fasting, he-he.

Since 1-st of November I'm in age (by USA law, I'm in age by Russian law since 18)! I have celebrated it in:
1. Mass at 8.00
2. Breakfast with our curate (now I know this word) - tea, cheese and bread with mustard oil
2. Mass at 12.00
3. Dinner with our clergy
4. Tea at home
5. Mass at 19.00
6. Pizza and beer (or wine or lemonade) in "Il Patio" with catholic youth

There is minor seminary in Novosibirsk. There is my friend Denis M. (look here) studying in it. He is studying Latin (not only Latin), and when severe SJ fathers return him his phone on weekend, he calls me (or I - him) and tell, how it goes and how their Latin teacher does his work.
And I have another friend in Novosibirsk, with whom in good old times we played table tennis and travelled to Marx (little town near Saratov) by the train (1,5 days: he tried to make me young lady), who was ordained a year ago, with whom we correspond twise a month via e-mail and dream to have TLM in our diocese. And he teachs Latin in Novosibirsk minor seminary and writes me how it goes...

Tomorrow is my last day at the uniwersity work. All papers are done, my health is well (it wasn't flu, simpliciter cold).
On Sunday will be Denis's seeing off. I have told him "Govori chernoje, delaj krasnoje". On Tuesday he will go to Novosibirsk.
I'm thinking: what is possible to do with our "elder youth" (it means "young adults") in our Tuesday meetings. Generally it is our vicar's headache, but... it concerns me or not?

Flu-2, Vespers and sneeze

Yesterday my flu brought me a terrible rhinitus. Sneezing and wiyh tears in my eyes I thought, how would I pray Vespers. The wonderful idea visited me. Here is possible phone talk:
- Hallo! Laudetur Iesus Christus! *sneeze*
- In saecula saeculorum. Amen.
- Father, did you pray your Vespers today?
- No. And why do you ask?
- Please, pray it now, loud and with phone reciever...
Then I thought, that isn't a good idea. If our parish priest would visit his vicar, he would be amused to see him praying Vespers by phone.

I decided pray Vespes without somebody's help. And thought, what is more sinful: to sneeze on
- Liturgia horarum for laymen in Russian (1 book, Psalter and per annum);
- Standard (4 vol) Liturgia Horarum in Latin;
- Breviaium Romanum (I haven't it, but...)
I prefered N 1. Usually I use N 2.

After it I considered liturgical sense of sneeze. On Saturday I will go on the Mass, who knows< what will be with my flu. I don't know, is this custom in other countries: if somebody speak and other person sneezes, it means that he says truth. Maybe I can sneeze in place of "Amen"? (In NO Mass, of course). And if the priest recitates prayer in "tonus antiquus", should I sneeze in the same tone?

Today I have restarted my thomistic and Greek studies. My science consulter waits of me the super-essay with Latin-to-Russian translation. I was promised, that it should be the super-essay.
Our Chair of ontology and gnoseologia is "non grata" in philosophy department. Because here are sitting evil Logikans, I think.
This week I will work in the University. I tried to change my job. Not succesfully. I will try again. Pray for me, please.
Why I want change my favourite and bringing respect job? Because 175$ a month isn't good salary.
500-650 - is a normal one in our city.

Congregatio Sororum Ancillarum Iesu in Eucharistia. This congregation is most widespread in Russia. And on it there are reasons: it works in secret on the territory of Soviet Union (Kazakstan, Siberia). Older sisters tell about their service in those days.
Nowdays this congregation has formation house in Marx (near Saratov), our province includes Russia (two dioceses of four Russian and Kazakstan). Very large province.
Congregation was fundater in Druja (now - Belorussia) by bishop of Wilno, blessed George Matulaitis-Matulewicz.

Marian songs on Offertory: 2be or not 2be

The little battle was in my parish after Mass in Assumption day between me and sr. N. I had heard, that marian songs are unconvenient on Communio. Yes, yes. Our vicary priest told me, that they discussed it in seminary; nowhere it was praecepted.
But this time sr. N. appelated to some Polish liturgist's autoritet and ask me not to sing marian songs on Offertory and told, that on Introit it should not be on his mind.
Contradictio: Introitus essentiam sollemnitatis representare debet (sorry, I have prevented you). I can appelate only to "Table to dummy organists" in official book of songs of Catholic Church in Russia. Sr. used "argumentu ad hominem" redactor of it.
My forum friends (from catholiconline.ru) remembered me about Graduale, where marian anthems can be on Introitus, Offertorium, Communio.

And my first day in new job. It's intresting to be "for all-manager" in small company. After working - Holy Mass at 19.00. It's intresting, how many priests sayed today something about st. Pius X in their sermons, not only at the beginnigg of Mass?In Ekaterinburg - nobody (two priests and one Mass was today in our 1,5 mln city).
St. Pius X is favorite saint of my friend, who was ordinated last year. He wants to celebrate Tridentine Mass, but waits, when fideles ask for it.
After Mass - adoration and Completorium. Salve Regina - of course.
Our parish priest (parochus) told me, that now they have a black he-cat, wearing white "coletto". I hope to see him (wait for photos)

Ghm. It's a little risky - to write in this blog. I learned English at school. I can read interesting books and sites (expesially traditional catholic, he-he), but can I write - that is the question.
My name is Eugenia. I am Roman Catholic. ("Hello, Eugenia!" - at Saturday my friends offered me to be an "Anonim organist") In is strange to be a catholic in our country - I live in Russia. But our diocoesia is the best, of course :) More strange is to be traditional catholic - there are Tridentine Mass in Moskow once a month, in St. Petersburg dont know how frequently. But I don't live in our Capitals. 1903 km distans between TM and me.
When I don't remember english word - I will use latinism, sorry.
I will glad to see some traditional catholics and other good people in my ICQ (393-271-106) and Skype (kurlowa.eugenia)
